This little island is the perfect getaway for a luxury romantic vacation. We were fortunate to have spent 3-months in these showcase Islands. Even with that amount of time we savored for more and you will too no mater how much time you spend here. It's a place you'll always want to venture back too. The interior of Rarotonga is a lush rainforest intertwined with rugged volcanic peaks. The beaches are pristine, miles of white sand beaches awaiting your gentle touch. A clear jewel-like lagoon will beckon any on-comer to visit its warm soothing water.
Rarotonga has its special beauty amongst the Cook Islands. It's the only Island in the chain that has mountainous peaks; thus, the Island is captivating, creating spectacular images. You can explore and wander for hours in the lush dense forested areas. Our purpose is not to go into great minute details regarding Rarotonga, but instill within you the desire to visit this beautiful Island and to share with you first-hand some often over-looked opportunities. (You can get the details of flights from our Travel Network or more specific details by clicking on one of the Features in the Resource Directory located near the top of this page.) If you're one who likes calm and tranquility, you'll get it all here. There's hardly a "bad" weather day. It's very unlikely you'll experience the type of winds that the hurricanes bring into the Gulf Region of the U.S. This part of the Pacific, for the most part is pretty calm. As a result, you can absorb the full essence of the natural beauty. We recommend that you get acquainted with the under-water world while visiting. It is a marvelous opportunity and many places to explore. The water visibility is approximately 100-feet. It's the perfect romantic setting, and all you have to do is participate. You can venture into one of the many local dive shops and participate in one of their escorted dives. Or, you can take your snorkel gear and explore until your heart is content. Beware of some of the tropical fish though, don't let them fool you. Some tropical fish are poisonous; therefore, we recommend that you contact the locals regarding the poisonous fish and read over a fish identification guide.
One of our favorite beach areas for snorkeling and just hanging around is just off the town of Titikaveka. There are schools of colorful fish, plenty of coral, and extravagant beaches. As you're traveling about the Island you'll find numerous opportunities and options for beach activities. Titikaveka happened to be one of our favorites because of the pleasant romantic memories. Muri Beach is also another one of our favorites. The lagoon area is big, lot's of sand to stretch out and wind surfing for the challenging at heart. We know you'll love and enjoy Rarotonga and the Cook Islands for a fun-filled Romantic Time. Now it's up to you to get there. Check out our Travel Network for your romantic vacation to Rarotonga.
