Ibiza...The Most Extreme
Ibiza, part of the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain in the
Mediterranean, experiences extremities. The landscape is rocky and rugged
with little rainfall. Interspersed amongst the rocky coastline are dozens
of fine little gems, sandy beaches. Most of the fine beaches lure the
tourist with the devout developments. Some are extravagant in this harsh
environment.
Ibiza attracts visitors from all over Europe. In the past the sparse
island made way for the traditional 60's hippie, but no longer. You'll
find all walks of life lured to this little tropical island. Nightlife is
wild, generating some of the most popular discos in Spain. The summer
scene opens the way for a diverse array of nightclubs and bars.
Getting Around...
By far the best way around the island is to have your own vehicle,
either a car, motorcycle or bicycle. You'll have the freedom to explore
the secluded beaches, otherwise you're stuck with everyone else. Finding a
rental vehicle is easy, there are plenty; however, get ready to pay the price.
You can pick up a rental car at the airport or for cheaper rental vehicles, they
are a way from the airport.
Buses run around the island too, especially during the summer months.
You can easily catch a bus heading to a summer party area, they run during the
night for the party-goers.
You can check out our Travel
Network and pre-arrange a rental vehicle, get a competitive price even bore
setting foot on Ibiza.
Accommodations...
Ibiza city has a very diverse opportunity of accommodations, from single beds
in a private home to a complete home rental.
The beach fronts play tribute to a host of resort style hotels.
Granted, they are pretty nice and nestled on beautiful beaches. We prefer
more seclusion, therefore, if you're visiting in the summer months and staying
at a resort style hotel, break away and cruise around the island for a more
secluded beach. Cala Bassa offers more seclusion.
Check out the resources listed above for more accommodations or check out our Travel
Network for accommodations on the Island of Ibiza.
Beaches...
Ibiza is typically known for its party scene, and the parties are very
lively at the beaches. If your romance falls into this category,
you're at the right spot. On the southern most tip of the island are bar
far the most popular beaches. You can easily take a bus from Ibiza City to
Ses Salines, along the South Coast. The beach area at Ses Salines is
definitely one for the party crowd. You'll find open-air beach bars to
tend to your fancy and wide open nude beaches welcome everyone. Yep, feel
free to take it all off if you desire.
If you want a more family-friendly environment, head over to the western end
of the beach area. You'll bypass all the nude sunbathers and can
participate in some family oriented activities.
If you're one to participate in the adult nude romantic beach, then stay on
the eastern portion, swimsuits become less common as you stroll eastward.
Comments...
We recommend that you visit Ibiza during the off-season. You'll find
the locals more friendly and definitely the island is less crowded. You
can simply relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty of the island instead of the
bustling summer crowds.
The beaches also come alive in their own sort of way during the off-season.
They aren't flooded with sun worshipers nor wild party-goers. There is a
sense of tranquility amongst the beaches, very quaint. In fact, it's hard
to imagine the during the summer season the beaches are flooded with a mass of
tourists and party seekers.
During the off-summer season, you'll get the best travel rates and
accommodations. Check out our Travel
Network, you'll be glad you did.
