Where's the Number 1 Location? We voted Maui as Number 1...see below. We'll give you the FACTS, granted you can get specific about flights, hotels, etc., from our Travel Network or click on one of the Features in the Travel Resources; however, our purpose here is to share some often overlooked insights that can give you an added edge on your Hawaii Luxury Vacation. The beauty about the Hawaiian Islands is its diversity to meet nearly every travelers needs: it's a U.S. state, easy access, has a differing weather conditions depending on your location, both crowded and secluded beaches to meet your fancy, resort style accommodations or budget style, and an array of exquisite food or fast food. Depending on your definition of a Hawaii Luxury Vacation, you can make it happen in the Hawaiian Islands. The Hawaiian Islands are composed of 6-major Islands: Hawaii, Maui, Lani, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai. Each Island has their own uniqueness about them and you can have a Luxury Vacation on one, a combination of or all of them. As an all-around place to experience an exquisite luxurious romantic time we voted Maui as Number One. Why? Because of it's diverse features of Luxury to solitude in a remarkable setting. You can experience complete Luxury at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa. You've got it all here, a beach, waterfalls, ponds, pools, walks, all on 40 some acres of beautiful manicured grounds. It's simply gorgeous. You have the opportunity to explore the beautiful waterfront town of Lahaina, a one-time busy whaling port, considered the whale capital of the world. You have numerous places to shop and dine, there's simply no end.
Maui has a reputation for dazzling sunsets. This is an added edge to any Hawaii Luxury Vacation, nature at its best. For the adventurous, there's some of Hawaii's best surfing on the western and southern shores. The waves can get big but if you're not up to giving it a try, it's an adventure just watching the local experts ride the curling waves. You can even venture off and find the "Maui Diamond". These little stones with gem like features are small white quartz fragments found near Hekili Point. It makes for a great afternoon of fun exploring the beach and looking for the "Diamonds". A stay on Maui, as part of your Hawaii Luxury Vacation, cannot be complete without a visit to the Haleakala Crater, or "House of The Sun". We recommend that you drive to the top and catch the sunrise. It's a marvelous sight watching the glistening sun rise over the Pacific. It simply a must see! And while there, you'll see the amazing Silversword. (This is a silver looking plant that's shaped somewhat like a barrel cactus with swords.) It truly beautiful and it's unique to this area on Maui. To add more to your Hawaii Luxury Vacation is a visit to the Seven Sacred Pools. These are a delicacy amongst water-flowing into perfectly smooth pools. It's nature's complete art work, just waiting for you to visit. Getting to the pools is either by foot from the top of Haleakala on an adventurous hike, or a spectacular drive along Hwy 36. The drive is remarkable winding through lush ravines, fishing villages, and numerous waterfalls. (The drawback is, if you're renting a car be sure to check out the rental agreement. Some agencies don't want you to drive too far along Hwy 36.) Another Luxurious opportunity is exploring the water off Molokini Island. This little island, 3-miles off Maui's south shore offers some fabulous snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. Molokini is an inactive sunken volcanic cinder cone. It's shaped like a horseshoe and you can actually visualize the cinder cone on a slant, sunken in the water. This sunken cinder cone acts as a preserve for some beautiful tropical fish. You can meander in the water for hours looking at natures finest. It's like you're in an aquarium. You can pick up a charter boat out of Lahaina that'll zoom you over for a diving experience. Molokini was once a military target training site. The Island has remnants of military hardware; however, the island is no longer open for visitation. You can only look at the island from the boat. Upon your return, we'd like to hear from you about your Hawaii Luxury Vacation. The bottom line, it's up to you to make your Hawaii Luxury Vacation happen. We can entice you, encourage you, but ultimately it's your decision. In your decision making process remember what Mark Twain said, "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor...Explore. Dream. Discover." We know you'll love and enjoy your Hawaii Luxury Vacation for a fun-filled Time. Now it's up to you to get there. Craig Dahl - The Romantic Travel Expert
