Calistoga..What Are You Waiting For?

Calistoga California is one of those luxury romantic places that you can literally swelter away in mineral springs. We recently visited the famous area again, it had been some 20 years that we last visited the area. And of course, the area changed. The towns appeal became more appealing, inviting an array of people from all over the world. And the spas have sprouted offering some of the finest mineral baths on our planet.

If you're not familiar with Calistoga, it's just 75 miles north of San Francisco in the heart of the Napa Valley. The picturesque wine country surrounds this quaint town, the drive in is explicit. Pick up a California map, follow Hwy 101 north until you find Santa Rosa. Veer over towards the east and you'll see the town, Calistoga. It's small with a population of some 5000 - 6000 people and it makes the perfect place to settle in a romantic delight.

While in between basking sessions in the mineral springs you might want to participate in touring the Wineries. They are countless and the wines are excellent. Simply drive down any road, exiting town, and you'll see a host of wineries offering you the opportunity to taste their special blend.

There are numerous accommodation opportunities throughout the area. You can check with our Travel Network or call the Chamber of Commerce at 707-942-6333. You can go elite or rustic. We chose a more rustic setting and headed out of town about 25 miles to the Rustridge B & B.

This was an excellent choice, if you like a remote romantic setting, with an on-site winery, rolling hills and superb accommodations. The B & B is nestled on a ranch, surrounded by the vineyards and horses. The romantic setting is perfect for those who want their time away from any sort of hustle and bustle.
